GalleryEntry vs EntryThingy
Looking for an EntryThingy alternative?
EntryThingy charges $3 for every entry you receive, plus tokens for emails and a monthly fee for its online showcase. GalleryEntry is free for your first 100 entries every year, with emails and the exhibition page included, and it was designed for volunteers and artists who don’t love computers.
Why organizations choose GalleryEntry
No meter running
With EntryThingy, a popular show costs more: 100 entries is $300. On GalleryEntry, your first 100 entries each year cost nothing at all.
Emails and the exhibition included
EntryThingy charges a token per 100 email recipients and 9 tokens a month for its Artist Showcase. GalleryEntry includes decision emails, reminders and a full online exhibition on every plan.
Built for older volunteers and artists
Large type, plain words, text on every button, autosave on every page, and a show overview that tells the next volunteer exactly what to do.
Fees the way guilds charge them
Member prices, a fee per piece, category fees, late fees and pay-by-check, all built in and added up for the artist.

When EntryThingy might suit you better
We’d rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one. EntryThingy may be the better choice if:
- You want your call listed in a large public directory that artists browse. EntryThingy advertises listings to over 160,000 artists; GalleryEntry deliberately has no public directory.
- You want the entry form embedded inside your own website rather than on a separate page.
- You take well over 100 entries a year and want a published per-entry price today. (Our larger plans are quoted; ask us.)

Questions people ask
Is GalleryEntry cheaper than EntryThingy?
For most small organizations, yes: GalleryEntry is free up to 100 entries a year, while EntryThingy charges $3 per entry, so 100 entries would cost $300 there. Emails and the online exhibition are also included on GalleryEntry.
Does either service take a cut of our entry fees?
Neither does. With GalleryEntry, entry fees go straight into your own PayPal account, or you collect checks yourself. PayPal charges its usual processing fee.
How hard is it to switch?
Most organizations set up their first call in an evening: create your organization, add your logo, connect PayPal or add check instructions, and copy your prospectus into a new call. Artists create a free account when they apply. Write to us and we’ll help you set up your first show.
EntryThingy information comes from its own website (entrythingy.com/pricing), checked in October 2026. Prices change; please check with EntryThingy before deciding. EntryThingy is a trademark of its owner, used here only to compare.
